Counselling, Psychotherapy and Supervision in Wareham Dorchester Weymouth, and online

Welcome!

ABOUT ME

My name is Rob Bell-Cross. I am a psychotherapist, a counsellor and a clinical supervisor with over 20 years of practical experience, based in Winfrith Newburgh, Dorset.

As well as working in private practice, I see both trainee and professional therapists for clinical supervision

From 2010 to 2019 I was the Director and Principal Counsellor of west London’s largest counselling service.

I am a fully registered, senior member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

As a therapist I see it as my role to encourage people to openly explore their lives, their experiences and their difficulties within a warm and supportive setting. I believe that it is through clarification of the way in which we live our lives, that we can best discover new possibilities and more rewarding ways of living.

HOW I WORK?

I am committed to providing a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space, which allows clients to explore their feelings and understand themselves better.

I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I work with a variety of issues, including: depression, loss, bereavement, anxiety, trauma, long-term health conditions, sexuality, difficulties in the workplace, as well as isolation and issues around low self-worth.

I also work with members of the Armed Forces and with the issues that may arise from this profession.

While this list is by no means comprehensive, the way in which each of us experiences our difficulties is unique. Psychotherapy provides us with an opportunity to become aware of exactly how we experience our difficulties in a personal sense and discover ways to overcome the challenges we face in our daily lives.

I take great pride in being effective in helping clients move forward with their lives.

CONFUSING THOUGH IT MAY SEEM

Confusing though it may seem, psychotherapy and counselling are broadly interchangeable terms. In a general sense, psychotherapy refers to longer term or ‘deeper’ work, while counselling refers to the addressing of a specific issue. In the real world however, the specific issues we experience always tell us something about the way in which we live and therefore cannot be separated from our lives in general.

A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE

Being in therapy offers a unique experience. It is a regular, confidential and supportive space for you. A safe and confidential space for you to share your thoughts and feelings about your life, your concerns and your hopes for the future.

MORE REWARDING WAYS OF EXPERIENCING LIFE

Most people initially come to therapy because they feel stuck in their lives and unsure of how to move forward. In our sessions together I will help you to honestly and openly explore your story and support you in finding new and more rewarding ways of experiencing your life.

CONTACT ME

I appreciate that it can often feel nerve-wracking contacting a therapist for the first time.

However, if you email me I would be more than happy to answer any of your questions and you would be under no obligation to continue any further if what I offer doesn’t feel right for you.

Should you choose to continue or find out more, you can call me on: 07780-573-159 or book in an initial appointment where we can meet and discuss why you are choosing to come to therapy and what your goals may be.

All enquires are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
